Chiriqui has the potiential to be the Guanacaste Costa Rica of Panama.

With the David airport already supporting 6 flights a week to San Jose Costa Rica this was the same way the Liberia airport opened up for Guanacaste back in 2000. Taca already has connecting flights from the states to San Jose and on to David. It is just a matter of time before direct flights will arrive in David.

 This is not to say it will happen over night. The existing runway at the David airport still needs to be extended.

 Not to worry my friends, only one year after Air Panama started their trice weekly round trip David-SJO-David Taca jumped on the wagon.

 I have no predictions when these interational flights will commence but with more tourimsm adtivites now being built in Volcan-Boquete-Boca Chica-Playa Las Lajas and the possble construcion of the projected oil refinery in Puerto Armulles the need will increase for international flights.
