As Groucho Marx once said, "Growing older is something you get to do if you're lucky."

The guru, after 30 years in Costa Rica, has firmly rooted himself in the Panama culture. Why? Adventure, something new, doing it again from the beginning stages of a countries development, did I say adventure, there are numerous reasons.

Both my tica daughters have finished high school one in L.A, working her doctorate and the other attending photography school in Costa Rica. So those parts of my life and the responsibilities that go with it have pretty much taken on a kind of parental consulting phase.

My apologies for using the same guru handle for Panama as I did in Costa Rica. My years of service in Costa Rica gave me an edge over many expats so I felt like I could live up to the guru name. In Panama I have traveled the entire country many times with the exception of the Darien. I do not consider my self totally knowledgeable on all issues here in Panama and for this reason I am focusing on three provinces, Chiriqui, Veraguas and Los Santos.

Panamaguru dot com was purchased a long time ago when it was available and I do like the simple name. I do not necessarily consider my self a guru in the way the name implies, however, with my time here in Panama, old Panamanian friends I met in Costa Rica and the very knowledgeable new friends I have made here I feel if I cannot answer your question I know where to look or I will send you to the proper place to find the correct answer.
